Food and Exercise Diary day 1

Starting today, I'm going to keep a diary of the things that I eat and the exercise I do. In eating I'm going to be following the "Hay-method" mainly, but my main goal is not to stick to one single method, but to try and find the best balanced diet suitable for my body.

9am - a glass of water
10am - a clementine
10.30am -a bowl of muesli (with nuts and raisins, no sugar - ALDI nutty muesli) with cow's milk (bad idea, as I have lactose intolerance, next time definitely goat's milk or nothing!)

13.15 - a big cup of green tea
15.00 - a big bowl of the "red lentil's a la Noemi" with brussel sprouts and parsnip
17.30 - fruit tea
19.00 - a glass of apple juice
21.00 - cooked millets with honey, cinnamon, raisins, hazelnuts and almonds

Exercise: 1 hour yoga in the morning (surya namaskara, breathing, asanas to stretch the spine and 5 minute meditation)
30 minute walk with the doggies

Conclusion of today: I feel really good, the millets were a great finish for the day, it felt very light but still very filling.

Although this isn't meant to be a diet as such, I've weighed myself out of curiosity, and starting off with 72kg, after dinner of course :) More than a diet, I'm doing this to become healthier, but also to cleanse myself of the horrible effects of taking CERAZETTE. I'm writing it in big letters because I have a suspicion that there are many women out there who have no idea why they're suffering from anxiety, depression and other disturbing symptoms, and might not realise that taking a tiny little birth control pill can have such damaging side effects. I only realised that my severe mood swings were caused by this after my boyfriend showed me a forum where tons of women were describing very similar feelings. So 3 days ago I took the last pill ever, chucked the rest in the bin and now happily cleansing. Sorry about the not so bubbly detour, but hope it will be helpful to some.

Oh and to finish the day on a lighter note, I looked at a bar of chocolate and 2 slices of poppyseed cake left over from Christmas at least five times today, but the thought of having to write it down put me off eating it straight away :)

Mmmmm and I can smell my lovely bread baking in the machine, yikes! which I only just realised will not be entirely "Hay-friendly" as I had to add two eggs to the flour, but who cares, it smells divine! Ready to sleep now and repeat my sankalpa (Sanskrit word, sankalpa means will, purpose, or determination)

"Life is an opportunity and a source of joy"

and a mantra invented by my strawberry loving friend Kata:

"Wonderful things are happening to me every day" instead of "something wonderful will happen tomorrow" because she said she doesn't want to keep waiting for tomorrow, good point Kata! Sweet dreams xxx
